Coffee Kartz N.Z. Limited was founded in July of 2002 by the Bell Family. Jason Bell had a design concept for the sale of coffee in a mobile setting, he wanted something that would indulge his passion for coffee, be self sufficient, allow for atmosphere while serving customers without his back turned to them, be stylish, innovative, and create a lifestyle business for his family.

While Jason and his partner Melanie were travelling through Italy they saw an Italian man on the street serving coffee out of a three wheeled motorbike, the idea sprang from there and was adapted to suit the New Zealand lifestyle and hygiene requirements.

Italian Coffee was chosen by the four family members involved to give the quality and image that they desired, and, after extensive tasting, they decided on the Coffe Fantini brand for its exceptional quality and distinctive flavour suited to the broad market they were targeting.

The first Coffee Kart took approximately four months to design and build; it was launched in November 2002. The Nissan S-Cargo was chosen to be the launch vehicle for many reasons;

• Because of its appeal as a promotional vehicle with the obvious Sign-writing advantages

   

• The high tailgate at the back to provide shelter for the machine and operator and also the European snail connection.

The size of the vehicle made the design difficult due to the large components it has to carry, although in the long term this has added to the appeal with the quote “I can’t believe that all goes back into there”.

The Coffee Kartz vehicles are painted in accordance with the Fantini corporate colours and carry the Coffe Fantini logo on their sides and bonnet’s. We added the Prodotto in Italia and Experience the Taste of a True Italian Espresso for easy recognition of the premium Italian product that we are proud to serve. They also carry the Coffee Kartz name, email address and phone numbers for instant contact details. The black and red accents were added to retain the clean lines with classic European styling.
